Real Projects, Real Analysis Experience
We partner with Australian businesses to bring actual corporate finance challenges into your learning. You'll work on real data sets, build financial models that matter, and develop skills employers actually need. No simulations—just genuine experience with the kind of problems you'll face in your career.
Recent Student Work
These projects represent work our students completed during their programs. Each one tackled a specific business challenge using the analytical frameworks we teach here.
Regional Expansion Valuation
A manufacturing client needed to understand whether expanding into Southeast Asia made financial sense. Our students built a DCF model incorporating currency risk, built sensitivity analyses around commodity prices, and presented findings that informed the board's decision in early 2025.
Acquisition Due Diligence
When a Sydney-based tech company considered acquiring a competitor, they shared their financials with our program. Students performed ratio analysis, identified red flags in working capital trends, and quantified synergy opportunities. The client used this work as part of their internal review process.
Capital Structure Optimization
A retail chain with multiple debt instruments wanted clarity on their optimal capital mix. Students analyzed their existing structure, modeled different scenarios, and recommended a refinancing approach that balanced cost of capital with financial flexibility. Real numbers, real impact.
How Project Work Actually Functions
We don't assign projects randomly. Each one connects to specific learning objectives and builds on previous work. You'll start with foundational analysis and gradually take on more complex challenges as your skills develop.
- Receive anonymized but genuine financial data from partner companies
- Work in small groups with guidance from analysts who've done this professionally
- Apply specific methodologies we've covered in coursework to real scenarios
- Present findings and receive feedback from both instructors and business partners
- Build a portfolio piece that demonstrates actual analytical capability

Program CoordinatorWhat Makes These Projects Different
I spent eight years as an analyst before joining crenavirota, and honestly—most training programs use outdated case studies that don't reflect how finance actually works today. We take a different approach.
Our partner companies share current challenges they're facing. Sometimes it's a valuation question. Other times they need help understanding their cash conversion cycle or evaluating capital projects. Students work with the same messy, incomplete data you'd encounter in a real job.
What I've noticed is that students remember these projects. Years later, when they're in their careers, they'll reference something specific they learned while working on a particular business problem. That's the kind of learning that sticks because it meant something at the time.
"The best preparation for analytical work is doing actual analytical work—with guidance, feedback, and the safety to make mistakes while you're still learning."
Upcoming Cohort Timeline
Our next program begins in September 2025. Here's what the application and project schedule looks like if you're interested in joining.
Applications Open
Submit your application along with a brief analytical writing sample. We're looking for people who think clearly and communicate well—you don't need prior finance experience to apply.
Application Review
We review applications on a rolling basis, but all decisions will be finalized by late July. Selected applicants will receive project briefs and preparatory materials in early August.
Program Launch
The cohort begins with two weeks of intensive methodology training, then moves into project work. You'll complete three major projects over the twelve-week program, with increasing complexity and independence.
